How does this work without uploading my photo?
A small AI model (U2NETP, about 5MB) downloads to your browser once and runs entirely on your device's CPU. Your photo is never sent anywhere.
Why is the first image slower than the rest?
The AI model has to download and initialize the first time you use it on a given visit. After that, every image in the same session processes quickly since the model is already loaded.
Can I clean up small mistakes in the cutout?
Not yet — this first version handles fully automatic removal only. A manual touch-up tool (to erase or restore small areas of the mask by hand) is planned as a follow-up.
What file do I get back?
A PNG with a transparent background, at your original image’s full resolution — no watermark, no downscaling, no limit on how many images you process.
Does this work equally well on any photo?
It handles clear subjects (people, products, objects) well. Very fine detail — flyaway hair, semi-transparent material, busy or low-contrast edges — is the hardest case for any background-removal model, including this one.
